Glow Over Atlanta

We had quite a storm this past Wednesday - a storm that yielded baseball-sized hail in some parts of western Georgia and spawned several tornadoes. Downtown we mostly got lightning, rain, and wind. I went to shoot some lightning photos from the parking deck at work, but without my tripod I was limited to video. This is an interesting frame from the bit of video I shot.

The frame was shot at a shutter speed of 1/8", which is the shortest my video camera will do. At that speed it didn't have to amplify the image much, and the lightning was pretty bright.

It's nice to know that when a dangerous storm is moving through the area, one of my friends is standing on top of an exposed roof. Great capture though.
