Julia Travels to London

  • June 1, 2007
...With me, of course. I spent most of yesterday evening and today cleaning up the photos from Europe. I took a total of 1798 photos starting in the Atlanta airport before departure and finishing in London on the evening before we returned. After today's processing, I whittled the set down to 1031 images, and several of those will become single panoramas or 3D composites, so "one thousand" is a good number for the whole 22-day trip.

The trip was great, and since I kept a rough journal, I should be able to remember all the highlights. I will be writing things down formally over the next week, and starting June 7th or 8th I will start publishing my day-by-day account, along with photos. I figure that will be easier to digest than releasing everything at once. At this point I'm trying to decide the best way to merge the "story" with the photos.

I won't flatter myself to expect that everyone will be on pins and needles to know what happened, but I'll take any excuse to build a photo essay-type site around the events, even if only for my own memory. It was a lot of fun and I hope not to forget any of it :)

Julia, you look good in this image. Older and more contemplative than usual.

Actually, I really am excited to hear about this trip and see what incredible photographic products you come up with. It should be amazing to relive my times in Europe through the work of a skilled photographer, and I can't wait! I'm glad the trip went well for you guys!
