Tools of a Trade

This weekend I'll be doing more work on the eternal CS project. I found out last week that my operating systems class, CS 4210, doesn't qualify as a valid course for my CS minor. However, I had picked a different valid CS class as a free elective, so swapping them will mean that I've lost no time. Still, while it's unfortunate that such a difficult class has become a simple elective, it just reiterates how different grad school has been.

When I needed one more hour to complete my undergrad degree, I chose the pass/fail seminar class because it would add the least work. Now I'd love to be missing an extra hour so I could use it as an excuse to take another security class, or learn more about data compression, or take any other cool class that teaches me something interesting. School is different when you're paying for it yourself.
