Prying up the Gold

  • March 6, 2006
"Gold" because it's some really nice hardwood flooring at my grandparents' 60-year-old house. The house will be demolished soon to make way for a mixed-use establishment, so several family members spent Saturday salvaging what we could. It's not an easy process, though, as we pulled up probably 150-200 square feet of flooring in about 6 hours before we could work no more. Before the place is completely abandoned, I hope to be able to test the strength of the sheetrock with a sledgehammer...

In the career sphere, here's a little view from my SSH session at work:

[root@budgetwiz dev]# uptime
11:21:09 up 221 days, 1:21, 2 users, load average: 0.09, 0.02, 0.00
[root@budgetwiz dev]# shutdown -h now

It's a bummer to have to end such a good uptime just because the VMWare host had a log file that had gotten too big.

I think a sledgehammer would be a good way to relieve sexual frustration.
