Raindrops on Berries

 • December 5, 2005
I watched Jeremy, Matt, and their teammates bowl a sad set of games today for their final round of tournament play. Actually, Jeremy wasn't that far off point, but it just wasn't anyone else's day. Competitive bowling doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, though, since any two bowlers would have no effect on each other. Golf is similar, but at least the conditions vary from day to day. Bowling on June 5, 1990 is no different from bowling on December 20, 2010, aside from possible changes in the rules of the game.

Jennifer linked me to an informative article about Rocketboom, which has enlightened me to how different it is than what I thought. Apparently Amanda isn't the nerd extraordinaire that all males would like her to be, but it actually makes me feel a bit better knowing that it's a full-on money-funded production. I was jealous back when it was just a simple hobby with no money involved, but I'm no longer jealous since they're using resources I don't have. That's my excuse.

Oh, and Happy 23rd, Matt :)

i don't think the rocketboom kids have THAT much money. ;) even though amanda's not an intrinsic nerd, i think she still gets credit for getting involved with the whole rocketboom project in the first place. and after a year of doing rocketboom every day, she's probably getting to be a geek. :)

If you played more, you would understand that each lane is different. Don't criticize what you don't know. Oh, and thanks.

Didn't criticise, I just said it doesn't make sense to me.
